Water for Injection (WFI) is used where water with high microbiological quality is required. The essential properties of WFI include:
The required water quality thus corresponds to the requirements for Highly Purified Water (HPW). However, the difference lies in the manufacturing process: For WFI, only the distillation process is permitted.
