Purified Water

Purified water (PW) is an essential ingredient in pharmaceutics and cosmetics. To be used here, it must meet the following criteria according to Pharm Europe:

Conductivity: < 4.3 µS/cm at 20°C
Bacteria: < 100 CFU/ml
Endotoxins: not specified
TOC: < 500 ppb
Nitrate: < 0,2 ppm
Heavy metals as Pb: < 0.1 ppm

According to USP:

Conductivity: < 1.1 µS/cm at 20°C
Bacteria: < 100 CFU/ml
Endotoxins: not specified
TOC: < 500 ppb

Pw does not have to be pyrogen-free.
